Citadel Mental Health & Wellness Day
The Citadel Neighborhood will host a Mental Health & Wellness Day designed to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and connect residents to mental health resources.
The event will include professionals, workshops, youth activities, and community discussions.
Key Coalition Community Pop-Up
Join Key Coalition at the Caring Communities Day event on Saturday, September 12th from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM. Stop by the Key Coalition table, connect with neighbors, and complete a short community survey for a chance to win a gift card.
Safer Santa Fe Celebration
Join the Historic Santa Fe Area Council for the Safer Santa Fe Celebration on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM at the Lots of Historic Santa Fe, 2801 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64128. This free community event will feature local vendors, food, games and activities for kids, community resources, and opportunities for neighbors to connect and celebrate together.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, as seating is limited.
Key Coalition: Shred Day
Key Coalition Neighborhood Association is hosting a free community Shred Day on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at 2810 Brooklyn Ave. Residents are invited to safely dispose of sensitive paperwork, including old bills, bank records, expired credit cards and IDs, medical bills, tax documents, junk mail, and other papers containing personal or account information.
A shredding truck and on-site personnel will be available to help ensure documents are securely destroyed. Residents who need assistance getting materials to the shredding site can also request a courtesy pickup from Rockhurst student volunteers. Paper only; participants are encouraged to use paper bags rather than boxes.
Columbus Park Senior Party
Columbus Park is hosting a Senior Party at Don Bosco Senior Center on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The event will give neighborhood seniors an opportunity to gather, connect, and enjoy time together in a welcoming community setting.
Don Bosco will begin serving lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Senior Party from 12:30–1:30 p.m. The event will conclude at 1:30 p.m. to align with scheduled van transportation for participating seniors.
KC Dawgs Flag Football – 2026 Season Practices
KC Dawgs Flag Football is inviting young athletes ages 6–12 to join its neighborhood teams for the 2026 season. Led by Head Coach Dawud Abdullah, a former Central High School and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff student-athlete with more than 20 years of youth coaching experience, the program focuses on conditioning, football fundamentals, teamwork, and skill development in a supportive environment.
Practices begin Monday, August 17, 2026, and are held Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 6:00 p.m. at Crews Square, 2601 Woodland Ave., Kansas City, MO 64127. Practices last approximately two hours and will initially focus on conditioning, stretching, throwing, catching, ball handling, and proper flag-pulling techniques.
Athletes should arrive about five minutes early, wear lightweight weather-appropriate clothing with tennis shoes or football cleats, and bring their own water bottle to every practice. Families will also have an opportunity to meet the individual age-group coaches at the first practice.
Rockhill Ridge: The Great Picnic Shindig: The Strength of Unity
The Great Picnic Shindig is a Rockhill Ridge Neighborhood Association community celebration, bringing neighbors together for an afternoon of fun, connection, and fellowship. Enjoy a giant water slide, games, kids' activities, food, and refreshments while building stronger relationships and a safer, more connected neighborhood.
Night Out Against Crime
Come out for a night of fun and relationship-building with local law enforcement to promote safe neighborhoods. We’ll have free hotdogs, chips, a bounce houses, face painting, and more! With demonstrations by the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) and the Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD).

Built to Last: Youth Life Sessions is a free 4-week youth development program presented by the Vineyard Neighborhood Association that introduces young people to practical, hands-on life skills through engaging weekly workshops. Participants will explore topics such as automotive basics, electrical safety, woodworking, and careers and marketing while learning from local professionals. Sessions are held Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with She's KC cooking classes immediately following each workshop.
Parents or guardians are required to attend and remain with their child throughout the program.
