Fiscal Sponsorship
Investing in community impact: the Kansas City metro’s sole fiscal sponsorship practice
Community Capital Fund (CCF) empowers mission-driven projects in the Kansas City metro to thrive by providing financial, legal, and operational support. Many organizations face barriers to funding and infrastructure, and fiscal sponsorship allows them to maximize their impact without the administrative burden of starting a nonprofit from scratch.
Why it matters
Kansas City ranks as one of the most philanthropic cities per capita which suggests that AVAILABILITY of funding is strong, ACCESS to funding, particularly by community-based organizations, is the city’s challenge.
A UMKC report, The State of Kansas City’s Nonprofits, reveals:
79% of funding goes to just 84 of 2,600+ nonprofits with revenue over $50,000.
Only 6% of all funding supports Arts & Culture, Environmental Quality, Mental Health, Crime Prevention, Homeless Shelters, Youth Development, and Civil Rights combined.
Our solution.
Community Capital Fund (CCF) is the Kansas City metro’s sole dedicated fiscal sponsorship practice, empowering mission-driven projects to maximize impact through financial and operational support.
Our fiscal sponsorship models
Model A: Full Support Sponsorship:
As a direct program model, the independent sponsored project shares a common corporate structure, tax exemption, and insurances, as well as staff and systems for managing finances, HR, legal, office space and other areas of back-office support with CCF.

Model C: Pre-Grant Sponsorship
As a pre-grant relationship model, Model C fiscal sponsorship provides an alternative to starting a nonprofit for mission-aligned, community development projects in the Greater Kansas City region. Charitable projects selected for this program are able to seek grants and tax-deductible donations without having their own 501(c)(3) status, thus increasing the capacity and impact of their projects.
