Strawberry Hill neighbors refresh a beloved garden with support from NRF

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

A beloved corner of the Strawberry Hill neighborhood is blooming with new life, thanks to the hard work of local residents and support from the Neighborhoods Rising Fund (NRF).

The memorial garden at 439 Barnett—already a cherished space in the community—recently received a much-needed refresh. With NRF grant funding, the Strawberry Hill Neighborhood Association led improvements including leveling and restoring the brick pathways and revitalizing the raised beds. These enhancements not only make the space more beautiful, but also safer and more accessible for neighbors of all ages.

Work is still underway to install a new water line, which will make it easier to maintain the garden year-round. But the transformation is already creating new opportunities for neighbors to gather, grow, and enjoy the outdoors together.

By revitalizing the memorial garden, the project supports NRF’s mission of strengthening neighborhoods through grassroots action and community pride. Whether it’s planting new blooms, hosting a gathering, or enjoying a quiet moment outdoors, Strawberry Hill residents now have an even more welcoming green space to enjoy.
